July 8, 2024- The pulling of the chariots of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra resumed today morning, marking the second day of the Rath Yatra in Puri. Despite an overnight pause, the devotees’ enthusiasm remained undiminished as they gathered in large numbers to participate in the grand festival.

On Sunday, the chariot pulling had to be halted at sunset. Lord Balabhadra’s chariot, Taladhwaja, was stopped at Marichikote Chhak, Devi Subhadra’s chariot, Darpadalana, halted near Srikrishna Cinema Hall, and Lord Jagannath’s chariot, Nandighosa, paused after rolling a short distance from the Singhadwar.

From early this morning, devotees were seen having the darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra on their majestic chariots. The atmosphere was charged with devotion and emotion as many expressed their joy at witnessing the deities.

The chariots are en route to the Gundicha Temple, continuing their nine-day annual journey. This unique display of faith and tradition underscores the deep spiritual connection of the devotees with the deities.
