Celebrating Diwali: IMS & DIA Noida Students Showcase Indian Culture with Dance and Rangoli

Noida, 30th October, 2024: With the campus alive in its colors of the festive seasons, Institute of Management Studies, and IMS Design & Innovation Academy(DIA), Noida and its students and faculty walked out together to celebrate this festival of lights, a collection of cultural activities including an on-campus Rangoli competition. It rekindled the essence of the rich heritage of the Indian culture with the great traditional art and glorious history the nation has to offer.

The high point was the competition in Rangoli hosted by IMS and IMS DIA. They all created rich and elaborate designs that could celebrate diversity and the mosaic of the nation. Another magnificent effort in the form of a brilliant Rangoli was devoted to the image of Ram Mandir- a perfect embodiment of the faith that could be evoked along with devotion at the root of Diwali celebration. The moment was memorable and made spectators pause awhile over India’s long cultural tradition and spiritual legacy.

In addition to Rangoli, a series of cultural programs presented by students from all the traditional dance and music backgrounds depicting beauty in India’s diverse forms of art was a testament to such efforts. Right from the classical dance shows to the folk songs, each performance that touched the viewers’ souls was testimony enough to have driven home a message and established the IMS’s spirit of unity among one as a group.

Prof. Dr. Vikas Dhawan, Director General, IMS Noida was more than satisfied with his students’ output and was quoted saying, “Diwali is not just the festival of lights but also a time to come together to celebrate our culture and heritage. These events go a long way in ensuring that our students remain attached to their culture while working towards team effort and creativity.”.

It reminded one that the institution stood committed to supporting not just excellence in academics but also students who were culturally aware. The festivities ended with a lighting ceremony and sweets shared by all; it brought students and faculty of the institution together in an atmosphere of joy, unity, and tradition.
