On June 4, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed jubilant supporters at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, marking a historic third consecutive term for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Modi began his speech with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jay” and “Jay Jagannath,” expressing deep gratitude to the electorate. “People of the nation have reposed their faith in the BJP and the NDA, and our victory is a win for the world’s biggest democracy,” he declared.

The Prime Minister highlighted the BJP’s significant win in Odisha, where the party will form the government for the first time, securing 19 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats. Modi also acknowledged the challenges in traditional strongholds like Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan but celebrated the overall victory with the NDA winning 286 seats against the Congress-led INDIA bloc’s 231.

Modi thanked the Election Commission for a successful election, which saw a record 64.2 crore voters, including 31.2 crore women, participating. Reflecting on his journey, he mentioned the support from Indian women, saying, “India’s mothers and daughters didn’t let me feel my mother’s absence.”

“This is the first time after 1962 that a government, after completing two terms, has returned to power for the third consecutive time,” Modi highlighted, noting the historic nature of the BJP’s victory. As the BJP celebrates its triumph, the Prime Minister’s address served as both a reflection on past achievements and a clarion call for future progress.
