Ahuja Appointed as Odisha’s First BJP Government Chief Secretary

01/07/2024- Odisha’s new BJP-led government, under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has appointed Ahuja as the state’s first Chief Secretary. Ahuja, a 1990-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre, took over from outgoing Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena, whose extended term concluded on June 30.

Ahuja, known for his distinguished career, holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, an MBA from Punjab University, Chandigarh, and a Masters in Public Administration (International Development) from Harvard University, USA.

As the new Chief Secretary, Ahuja will also handle the additional charge of Secretary for the General Administration and Public Grievance Department. His appointment marks a pivotal moment in Odisha’s administrative landscape under the BJP’s maiden governance.
