“The AEC industry saw a significant change in 2024, with a remarkable shift toward digitalization and sustainable construction practices. Global construction spending crossed $12 trillion, with India contributing over $640 billion, fueled by government initiatives like the Gati Shakti Mission and a strong push for smart cities. Technology adoption surged, with BIM usage rising by over 35% among mid-sized firms, underscoring a growing recognition of its cost and time management efficiency.
Looking ahead to 2025, the industry is geared to take even more leaps forward. The global AEC software market, valued at $14 billion today, will grow at a CAGR of 11% due to investments in AI, digital twins, and green technologies. Infrastructure spending in India will reach over $1 trillion, creating fertile ground for innovation. As collaboration between tech providers and the AEC sector deepens, we can expect accelerated adoption of integrated digital solutions that help respond to evolving challenges like sustainability and productivity.
The focus is now on harnessing technology for resilient, adaptive, and human-centric designs that align with global climate goals and urban development demands. It is a time of transformation for the AEC industry, opening doors for sustainable growth and future-ready ecosystems.”
