5th National Convention of Young Visionary Housekeepers: Shaping the Future of Hospitality

Bengaluru, October 22 2024: The Professional Housekeepers Association (PHA) hosted the 5th Young Visionary Housekeepers National Convention and 7th PHA YUVA Anniversary on September 14th, 2024, at Fortune Park JP Celestial, Bengaluru. The event attracted nearly 250 participants, including YUVAs from 16 different Hotel Management colleges, and professionals from the hospitality, healthcare, facility management, and aviation sectors. The convention, themed “Technology Enabled Housekeeping” (TEHK), showcased how cutting-edge technology is reshaping the housekeeping landscape.

A major highlight of the event was a panel discussion on “Housekeeping Management with Automation and Digitization,” moderated by Ms. Sunita Srinivasan (T. John College). The distinguished panel featured Mr. Satyabrata Samal, Associate Director of Housekeeping at Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa, Bengaluru, alongside industry leaders from ITC Windsor, Apollo Hospital, and Olive by Embassy. Mr. Samal shared valuable insights on Clarks Exotica’s pioneering use of AI and automation in housekeeping to enhance efficiency, guest satisfaction, and sustainability. He highlighted how Clarks Exotica successfully integrates technology without losing the personal touch, making it a leader in guest experience innovation.

Mr. Bhavya Kaura, General Manager of Fortune Park JP Celestial, also commended PHA’s efforts in fostering the next generation of hospitality leaders, while Mr. Ajay Jain, CEO of Bed and Bath Depot, emphasized the importance of standardized linen quality and inventory management in hotels.

Clarks Exotica further showcased its support for emerging talent by sponsoring meal and lifestyle vouchers for the participants. Their commitment to nurturing future hoteliers was evident in their active involvement throughout the event.

The day concluded with awards for various competitions, including housekeeping design, with M. S. Ramaiah University winning the Champions Trophy. Cultural performances by PHA YUVA members from across India and an expert talk on AI in Housekeeping by Mr. Girish Prabhu (CEO, Instio Experiences) added to the event’s rich experience.
