New Delhi, Mar 9: Under the aegis of Narayan Seva Sansthan, a free medical screening, surgical selection, and measurement camp for Narayan Limbs and calipers was held on Sunday at Triveni Greens, JP Hotel, Fatehabad Road, Agra, offering new hope and smiles to persons with disabilities.

A total of 598 participants from across regions attended the camp. The institute’s expert team of doctors and P&O specialists examined all individuals, taking measurements for 226 Narayan Limbs and calipers and selecting 108 patients for surgical procedures.

Prashant Agarwal, President of Narayan Seva Sansthan, emphasized the organization’s mission: “The moment a person with disability stands on their feet and smiles for the first time, that is the greatest reward for us.”

Dr. Manas Ranjan Sahu highlighted that many patients were affected by road and train accidents, electric shocks, fodder machine injuries, congenital disabilities, post-polio conditions, cerebral strokes, and complications from premature birth.

The camp commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and was attended by prominent dignitaries, social workers, and guests, including Narendrapal Dhakre, Suresh Chandra Agarwal, Dr. R.K. Arora, Charan Singh, Lakshmi, Brajbala, Bhim Singh, Ram Niwas Agarwal, and Qureshi. Many participants, some waiting years for artificial limbs, were overwhelmed with joy upon learning they would soon regain mobility.

Individuals measured during the camp will receive their Narayan Limbs in a special follow-up event in Agra in the next two to three months. The artificial limbs are lightweight, durable, and high-quality, designed to enable a return to independent and active lives.

The camp also provided free meals, tea, and refreshments for participants and their families, supported by a 40-member team from the institute.

Established in 1985, Narayan Seva Sansthan has so far provided over 39,388 free artificial limbs and treated more than 452,000 patients across India and abroad. The organization’s founder, Kailash Manav, has been honored with the Padma Shri, and President Prashant Agarwal received the President’s Award in 2023 for his contributions to the empowerment of persons with disabilities.

This camp reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to service, compassion, and empowerment, giving countless individuals the chance to stand, walk, and smile again.
