Chennai, Mar 27: Marking World Head Injury Awareness Day, the Kauvery Group of Hospitals highlighted the critical importance of timely access to Level I Trauma Care Centres for patients suffering from severe head injuries and life-threatening trauma.

Head injuries—caused by road traffic accidents, falls, sports incidents, or assaults—affect millions globally each year, with an estimated 1.5 million cases reported annually in India. Approximately 60% of these are linked to road traffic accidents.

Level I Trauma Care Centres represent the highest standard of emergency care, offering 24×7 neurosurgical, trauma, and critical care expertise, advanced imaging (CT and MRI), dedicated trauma resuscitation teams, and immediate access to operating theatres and intensive care units.
