Dengue Fever: Prevention and Symptoms

16/07/2024- Dengue, also known as break-bone fever, is a viral infection transmitted by mosquitoes, primarily in tropical and subtropical regions. While many people infected with dengue may not exhibit symptoms, those who do commonly experience high fever, headache, body aches, nausea, and rash. Recovery usually occurs within 1-2 weeks.

To prevent dengue, individuals are advised to:

Wear clothing that covers as much of the body as possible. Use mosquito nets, preferably treated with insect repellent, especially when sleeping during the day. Install window screens. Manage the environment to prevent mosquitoes from accessing egg-laying habitats. Properly dispose of solid waste and eliminate artificial containers that can hold water. These measures are essential in reducing the spread of dengue and protecting public health.
