New Delhi, 26 September 2024: The Ayush based Medical Value Travel is one of the priority areas identified by the Govt. of India to promote the business in the country. The Ministry of Ayush Govt. of India, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and State Govt. of Maharashtra is organizing the Ayush Medical Value Travel (MVT) Summit on 30th September 2024 at Hotel Sofitel, BKC, Mumbai.
Transforming Health and Wellness through Medical Value Travel’.Shri Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra, will be the chief guest for inaugural function. Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush and Union Minister of State, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, the Deputy Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, as well as Health/Ayush/Tourism Ministers of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan will be the guests of Honors.
The landmark event is organized to position India as the global hub for Medical and Wellness Travel based on Ayurveda, and other Ayush practices. The event is organized with focus on States of Western Zone of India covering the States of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and the UTs of Div, Daman, Dadara-Nagar Haveli. Similar events will be organized in other parts of the Country as well.
Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Invest India, ITDC, Ayushexcil, and Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) are the collaborators with the Ministry of Ayush, Govt of India in organizing the event. It will feature key government initiatives, industry insights, and success stories from business leaders in the Ayush, wellness, and medical value travel sectors.
Considering that India is ranked 10th globally out of the top 46 countries based on the Medical Tourism Index 2020-21, 12th out of the world’s top 20 wellness tourism markets, and 5th out of 10 wellness tourism destinations in Asia-Pacific, the summit will highlight how Ayush-based wellness services are shaping the future of MVT, offering international patients a blend of traditional and modern healthcare at competitive costs. Key stakeholders participating in the event include the senior government officers, Ayush hospitals, wellness centers, yoga centers, Ayush manufacturers and exporters in the west zone states of India as well as tour operators, tech providers, medical travel facilitators, , insurance companies, consulates, industry associations, etc.
The event will give an opportunity to the participants in understanding the policies and initiatives taken by Govt. of India as well as the State Govts, the regulatory provisions for quality assurance, insurance coverage, travel related aspects and will provide opportunity of interacting with market leaders in the sector.
