Mumbai, Mar 25: Aksigen IVF announced the inauguration of its Advanced Embryology Laboratory in Andheri East, Mumbai, marking a significant milestone in building a digitally governed fertility ecosystem under its ROOTS 360 framework. The ROOTS framework is rooted in outcomes, optimised for laboratory excellence, operationally efficient, technology-led, and scientifically governed, bringing together clinical science, laboratory precision, and digital systems to create a more transparent and consistent fertility care experience. The laboratory was inaugurated by Dr. Rupin Shah, a globally respected authority in andrology and a leading expert in the treatment of male infertility in India.
Advanced Embryology Laboratory Designed for Precision IVF Care
The newly operational embryology laboratory is a key component of ROOTS 360. It has been designed in accordance with ICMR and ESHRE guidelines and the ART Act 2021 standards, ensuring high levels of laboratory safety, quality control, and procedural consistency in assisted reproductive procedures. The facility supports advanced IVF technologies including Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection (IMSI), Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT/PGD), Laser Assisted Hatching, and advanced embryo culture and cryopreservation.
The laboratory environment is maintained under strictly controlled air quality, temperature, and humidity conditions to support optimal embryo development. All procedures follow standardised SOP-driven workflows with validated cryopreservation and micromanipulation systems, ensuring reliability, reproducibility, and strong process governance across the IVF process.
Advanced Diagnostics for Male Fertility AssessmentAksigen IVF has invested in advanced technology to improve the understanding of male infertility. The centre is among the few IVF clinics in India to use the LensHooke CASA X12 Pro system, an AI-enabled semen analysis platform capable of assessing double-strand DNA fragmentation (DFI), enabling more objective and reproducible semen analysis and providing deeper insights into male fertility factors that may influence treatment outcomes.
Technology-Driven Traceability and Patient Safety
To ensure and strengthen patient safety and laboratory governance, Aksigen IVF has a robust RFID-based chain-of-custody system supported by biometric verification. This system enables complete traceability of biological samples throughout the IVF process, supported by double-witnessing protocols and digital documentation workflows that enhance transparency and reduce operational risks.
