April 10: PVR INOX Limited, India’s largest and most premium cinema exhibitor, has announced the limited theatrical re-release of Jaws in a stunning 4K restored version across select cinemas starting April 17, 2026.
Directed by Academy Award-winner Steven Spielberg, Jaws (1975) redefined the thriller genre and set the benchmark for the modern blockbuster. Nearly five decades since its original release, the film continues to hold a legendary status in popular culture, celebrated for its masterful storytelling, iconic score, and edge-of-the-seat suspense.
With its 4K restoration, Jaws returns with enhanced visual clarity and immersive sound design, allowing audiences to experience the vastness of the ocean, the tension of the unseen predator, and the film’s atmospheric intensity as originally envisioned.
The re-release is part of PVR INOX Limited’s ongoing strategy to bring iconic films back to theatres, enabling audiences to revisit cinematic milestones on the big screen. Jaws also features in the company’s “Auteurs Curation” initiative, which celebrates filmmakers who have shaped the language of cinema. The curated lineup includes landmark films ranging from Dev.D by Anurag Kashyap to global classics by auteurs like Steven Spielberg, with more titles set to be announced.
