Mumbai, Mar 19: Content India 2026, a three-day summit organized by Dish TV India in partnership with C21Media, successfully brought together leading voices from OTT platforms, broadcasters, studios, and production houses to explore the rapidly evolving landscape of Indian and global content.
The summit opened with the highly anticipated Content India Copro Pitch, where creators from across the world presented innovative scripted and unscripted television concepts to an esteemed international jury, including Frank Spotnitz, Fiona Campbell, Rashmi Bajpai, Bal Samra, and Rachel Glaister. Hosted by Mayank Shekhar, the session spotlighted seven shortlisted projects spanning diverse genres.
At the conclusion of the pitch, two standout projects were awarded: Djinn Patrol and The Masala Quest. The winners received a £10,000 marketing grant from C21Media to support development and global promotion, highlighting the increasing international appetite for Indian storytelling and creative diversity.
Commenting on the initiative, Manoj Dobhal, CEO and Executive Director of Dish TV India, said that India’s content ecosystem needs stronger collaboration across creators, platforms, and technology players to unlock its full potential. He emphasized that Content India aims to serve as a unified marketplace where storytellers, investors, and global partners can connect and scale ideas.
The summit also unveiled the Content India Trends Report, offering key insights into industry growth and future projections. According to analysis by Omdia, online video in India is expected to nearly double the revenue of traditional television by 2030, driven by increasing digital consumption. The report also noted India’s dominance in global content creation, including a significant share of YouTube output and rapidly growing engagement across social platforms.
Further insights from Ampere Analysis highlighted India’s emergence as a global content powerhouse, producing over 24,000 titles as of early 2026, with a substantial portion distributed internationally. Indian content exports continue to expand across key global markets, including the Middle East, the United States, and Southeast Asia.
The summit featured multiple thought leadership sessions, where industry leaders discussed evolving audience behavior, content discovery challenges, monetization strategies, and the growing influence of short-form and connected TV platforms.
With a strong focus on collaboration, innovation, and global reach, Content India 2026 reinforced India’s position as a leading hub for content creation and a key player in shaping the future of global entertainment.
