The initiative reinforces the university’s long-term global strategy, Progress for All, aimed at expanding access to world-class education while enhancing equity and student outcomes.
High-achieving students can benefit from tuition fee reductions of up to 20 percent, along with a range of merit-based and need-based financial support options. As a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight and ranked among the world’s top 20 universities, UNSW Sydney offers students access to a globally connected academic ecosystem and strong industry integration.
Scholarship Portfolio
The scholarships available to eligible international students include:
- International Scientia Coursework Scholarship
- Full tuition fee coverage
- Partial scholarship valued at AUD 20,000 per annum
- International Student Award
- 20% contribution towards tuition fees
- Australia’s Global University Award
- AUD 10,000 for one year
- UNSW College Award
- AUD 10,000 for one year for students progressing from foundation programmes
In addition, UNSW Sydney offers a wide range of faculty-specific scholarships, further enhancing access for deserving students.
Eligibility and Application Process
The scholarships are open to international students applying for eligible undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programmes.
Applicants for the International Scientia Coursework Scholarship must:
- Submit an admission application via the official UNSW portal
- Register for a scholarship account
- Complete and submit the scholarship application before the deadline
For the International Student Award, applicants are required to:
- Verify eligibility through the university website
- Submit a personal statement (up to 500 words) outlining their motivation
Eligible students receiving a full admission offer will be automatically considered for the Australia’s Global University Award and the UNSW College Award, where applicable.
