The Rotary Club of Madras Honours Dr. Ravi Kasi Venkatraman with the Educator Extraordinaire Award 2025–26

One of Dr. Ravi’s most remarkable achievements has been mobilising CSR partnerships with leading corporates including HCL, Hyundai Mobis and others, raising several crores of rupees for the development of government school infrastructure. These partnerships have enabled the creation of new classroom blocks, improved WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) facilities, and the introduction of innovative digital learning tools that enrich classroom learning.

A highlight of his work is the establishment of the Young Kalam Science Centre, developed in partnership with HCL. The centre is among Tamil Nadu’s first hands-on science learning spaces designed to promote experiential learning beyond textbooks. Equipped with interactive exhibits and innovative teaching tools, the facility provides students with opportunities to explore scientific concepts through experimentation and discovery—often surpassing the facilities available in many premier private schools.

In a move that reflects his commitment to inclusive education, Dr. Ravi has opened the centre to students from other Government schools as well. As a result, the facility has benefited more than 30,000 students and 10,000 teachers from over 300 schools.

Dr. Ravi Kasi Venkatraman currently serves as the Headmaster of Maraimalai Adigal (MMA) Government Higher Secondary School in Pallavaram. A passionate educator and academician, he holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Manonmaniam Sundranar University and began his career as a Physics teacher in Government schools. Over the years, he has authored Science and Physics textbooks for students from Grades 6 to 11 and has been widely recognised as a key resource person for Physics at both district and state levels.

In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Ravi has played an important role in strengthening educational ecosystems. He is part of the District CSR team and has also served as the State Coordinator in preparing students for competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE and other national-level entrance tests.

Through his dedication, innovation and tireless advocacy for quality public education, Dr. Ravi Kasi Venkatraman continues to inspire educators and students alike, making him a truly deserving recipient of the Educator Extraordinaire Award 2025–26.
