Mumbai, February 11, 2025: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) inaugurated Batch 25 (silver jubilee batch) of its Post Graduate Programme in Development Management (PGPDM), marking a significant milestone for the programme. India’s only Development Management Programme internationally accredited by EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA-BGA—the prestigious ‘Triple Crown’—the PGPDM offers a unique blend of academic excellence and practical learning tailored for professionals working in or intend to work in the social sector.
The inauguration event was attended by Prof. Tanojkumar Meshram, Chairperson, PGPDM, Lavanya Jayaram, Regional Director – South Asia, AVPN, 44 participants of the silver jubilee cohort, and faculty and staff. The ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising the illumination of knowledge and the beginning of a transformative journey for the new cohort.
Prof. Meshram addressed the students and said, “Each of you brings a unique set of experiences and perspectives from across India. This diversity is your strength, enriching your learning environment and equipping you to tackle the complex challenges of the social sector. It is this rich diversity backed by your passion to bring change that makes this programme truly unique and impactful.” PGPDM Batch 25 comprises 40% female and 60% male participants, with a median age of 33, an average of nine years’ work experience, and representation from 16 Indian states.
Lavanya Jayaram spoke about the importance of social investment and stated, “In today’s complex world, partnerships for social investment are more crucial than ever. We must think at a systems level in whichever area we work in and work together to achieve our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for future generations. I urge each of you to actively seek out partnerships that can amplify the impact.”
Since 2011, the PGPDM programme has impacted over 350 organisations across 26 Indian states. PGPDM alumni hold influential roles such as founders, heads, trustees, and directors of NGOs, and work as social entrepreneurs, CSR managers, programme officers, and consultants within the social sector.
The 12-month modular programme equips participants with the knowledge, skills and perspectives required to drive social change, blending theory with real-world application. Its structure allows participants to balance work commitments with academic development, offering 30 courses over six contact periods. These include both on-campus and online learning modules, with the first, third, and final contacts held at SPJIMR’s Mumbai campus.
