The delegation was hosted by Sena Latif at her official residence in New Delhi, where distinguished guests from diplomatic, business, academic, and cultural circles gathered to welcome the visiting delegation. The reception was attended by prominent personalities including Akshay Bhati, Mohit Shrivastava, Baldev Raj, and Dr. Sanjanaa Jon. Their presence highlighted growing interest from diverse sectors—including culture, business, and the creative industries—in strengthening ties between the two nations.

During the visit, Deputy Minister Volintiru represented Romania at the prestigious Raisina Dialogue, one of India’s leading multilateral conferences focused on geopolitics and geo-economics. She participated in high-level discussions and panel sessions addressing themes such as European Union–India relations, emphasizing the importance of interregional cooperation, sustainable economic development, and resilience in an evolving global landscape.

The official delegation also included representatives from leading Romanian academic institutions such as University of Bucharest, Bucharest University of Economic Studies, and Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. During their engagements in India, the academic representatives met with Indian universities and research institutions to explore opportunities for expanding academic partnerships, strengthening joint research initiatives, and promoting student and faculty mobility.

The economic component of the delegation brought together Romanian companies operating across sectors including energy, metallurgy, information technology, defence, agriculture, agri-tech, and digital services. Through a series of business forums, seminars, and networking sessions, these companies explored potential avenues for trade, investment, and technology exchange with Indian partners.

The visit comes at a pivotal time as negotiations around the proposed EU–India Free Trade Agreement continue to gain momentum. In this context, the delegation’s engagements reinforced Romania’s commitment to strengthening economic and strategic cooperation with India and underscored its role as a dynamic European partner.

The successful visit has laid a strong foundation for a forward-looking, resilient, and mutually beneficial partnership between India and Romania, further expanding opportunities for collaboration across diplomacy, academia, trade, innovation, and cultural exchange.
