The Nourishing Schools Foundation has launched its innovative Change Catalysts initiative/course which aims to educate and empower young agents of change across India. The three-level programme/course is designed to equip schoolchildren with essential modern-world skills, promote health and wellness, and foster positive social change within their communities.
Founded on the principle of holistic development, the Change Catalysts course targets schoolchildren to harness their potential to become ambassadors of health and wellness by integrating educational modules focused on nutrition, hygiene, and food education. The modules contain information sourced from reputable institutions such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). These resources are accessible online through free, curated modules available to all schoolchildren nationwide, with an option to pay for an e-certificate upon completion of all modules.
The course operates through three progressive levels; with level 1 (SEED) focusing on an introduction to foundational knowledge on nutrition and hygiene, level 2 (CULTIVATE) assisting students to implement the Nourishing Schools Foundation toolkit in their schools, and level 3 (THRIVE) which emphasizes on promoting sustainable community impact through collaborative efforts and extending the programme/course to other schools adopted by their school.
Highlighting the significance of the course, Archana Sinha, CEO and Co-Founder, Nourishing Schools Foundation, notes, “Our organization’s primary goal is to empower children as changemakers, who, with the right guidance and nutrition education, could be at the forefront of establishing a healthy future. The Change Catalysts initiative aims to promote and bolster nutrition education through transformative educational experiences in schoolchildren. At the same time, the initiative also aims to empower parents and communities alike to understand the fundamentals of nutrition and recognize its role in augmenting the process of holistic development of their children.”
Since its inception in June 2024, the Change Catalysts course has already received significant interest from students across five different Indian states. Through the initiative, Nourishing Schools Foundation has embarked upon a journey to revolutionise the perception around nutrition education, helping students unlock their potential as changemakers.
