Hyderabad/New Delhi, Feb 03: Mahindra University’s School of Law has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fox Mandal & Associates LLP, one of India’s oldest and most established law firms, to strengthen industry-academia collaboration in legal education. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to equipping law students with practical exposure, professional readiness, and a deeper understanding of the evolving legal landscape, particularly at the intersection of law and technology.

As part of the collaboration, Fox Mandal & Associates will serve as the title partner for the second edition of the International Tech-Law Moot Court Competition hosted by the School of Law at Mahindra University. The competition will be titled the Mahindra University–Fox Mandal Tech-Law Moot Court Competition and will focus on contemporary legal challenges arising from emerging technologies.

Speaking on the occasion, Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor of Mahindra University, said, “This collaboration marks an important step in strengthening the link between academic learning and professional practice. By providing students with hands-on training, mentorship from seasoned practitioners and experiential opportunities such as moot courts, we aim to equip future lawyers with the skills, confidence, and practical insight required to excel in a dynamic legal landscape.”

The MoU enables close academic and industry engagement through intellectual contributions from Fox Mandal & Associates, including drafting the moot proposition and responding to clarifications, with academic and logistical support from the School of Law. The law firm may also sponsor awards across various categories and extend internship or placement opportunities to meritorious participants, subject to mutual agreement.

“Contributing to legal education is an essential responsibility of professionals present in the industry. Through this MoU with Mahindra University, we hope to support the development of future lawyers and contribute meaningfully to legal education. This partnership is a step towards creating stronger links between law schools and legal practice,” said Saurabh Bindal, Partner, Fox Mandal & Associates LLP.

The partnership also provides for active involvement of Fox Mandal & Associates in the competition, including participation of partners and associates as judges and adjudicators, and leadership roles during the final rounds and valedictory session.
