New Delhi, 29th August 2024: Genesis Global School, one of Delhi-NCR’s top-ranked educational institutions, recently concluded the first edition of its inter-school interdisciplinary competition MACOSCO 2024. The one-day-long event, which blends creativity with critical thinking to address the crucial theme of sustainability, saw the participation of over 120 students, reflecting the growing awareness and commitment among young people towards a more sustainable future. In addition to the students from Genesis Global School, the participants hailed from a few top prestigious educational institutions, such as Delhi Public School, Amity International School, JBM Global School, Khaitan School, Vishwa Bharati Public School, and Delhi World Public School, among others.
“The ethos of Genesis is all about ensuring a conscious & holistic growth of students while enabling them to achieve academic excellence. Sustainability has in modern times assumed the utmost importance for mankind and the developments we see as part of the globalization process. It is thus essential to make the citizens of tomorrow well versed with the various aspects of sustainable living engagingly and creatively, which constitutes the fundamental objective of events such as MACOSCO. We thank all the participants, students, and the Genesis family for making it a success and it is quite impressive to see students tackling vital issues from new perspectives,” said Ms Sanamdeep Chadha, Promoter & Director at Genesis Global School.
The inter-school competition comprised many curated events like Shark Den, Math-Art Couture Show, Minecraft PVP Extravaganza, Marketing Gimmick AD-MAD, and Design-O-Mania Poster Making. While Design-o Mania showcased innovative product designs with sustainable materials, Shark Den was a platform for the participating students to pitch eco-friendly business ideas. PVP Minecraft, meanwhile, allowed students to build sustainable environments in a virtual world, and Marketing Gimmick focused on promoting sustainability through creative campaigns. Another unique element of the competition was the Math Art Couture Show, which combined fashion and math to present sustainable concepts.
The word MACOSCO is derived from the concept of the interdisciplinary event, which incorporates different subjects such as Mathematics, Art & English, Commerce, Science, and Computer Science. The flagship event organized by Genesis Global School is also in sync with India’s National Education Policy. The enthusiasm and dedication of the participants reflected the growing awareness and commitment among young people towards a more sustainable future. Going forward, Genesis Global Schools intends to expand the sphere of MACOSCO next year by integrating a few other key subjects.
