Mumbai, Apr 13: Rangeet, a social enterprise committed to nurturing essential human skills in children, has launched its ‘Teachers of the Month’ initiative for its Rangeet SEEKer Community as a part of the Social Emotional & Ecological Knowledge (SEEK)© program in Maharashtra’s schools—in partnership with the Pratham Mumbai Education Initiative and OmniActive Improving Lives Foundation (OILF), with support from Nirlon Ltd. in Mumbai and OmniActive in Pune—as an effort to recognise educators who are meaningfully transforming classrooms. Through Rangeet’s SEEK™ curriculum, they are helping students build skills like empathy, resilience, collaboration, and environmental awareness in ways that are real and relevant to their everyday lives.

‘Teachers of the Month’ are educators who bring joy into their classrooms while equipping children with the skills they need for the future. At the same time, these teachers remain deeply engaged with the SEEKer Community, which, since its launch in July 2025, has grown into a supportive network for teachers in a profession that can often feel isolating.
Among the first honourees are Shubham Yemul (Jagruti Nagar CBSE School, Mumbai), who is using music, stories, and games to make concepts like empathy and mindfulness more accessible; Deepak Mahadev Gavade (Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar School, Mumbai), who brings environmental learning alive through discussions and real-life observations in Marathi; and Neelam Pramod Tiwari (Shriram Hindi School, Mumbai), whose interactive teaching style is encouraging even quieter students to actively participate. Also recognised are Sandhya Bhosale (Bandivali Vidyamandir School, Mumbai), who creates energetic classrooms where students feel confident expressing themselves; Nilima Nandkumar More (Vidya Niketan Prathamik Shala, Pune), who integrates life skills like nutrition and communication into everyday learning; and Rajeshree Manohar Mohare and Anjali Zite (Prathmesh Primary School, Pune), who are helping students develop a deeper understanding of environmental responsibility beyond textbooks. Each of these educators reflects the spirit of the initiative, bringing empathy, curiosity, and real-world relevance into the classroom
Speaking about this, Simran Mulchandani, CEO & Co-Founder, Rangeet, said:
“The ‘Teacher of the Month’ initiative is our way of recognising educators who are not just deeply committed, but are also inspiring other teachers, bringing SEEK into their classrooms and continuing those conversations within the Community.”
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work teachers put into making learning holistic for children,” says Dr Prachi Jambhekar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). “Having a BMC teacher among the first honorees is a matter of great pride, and knowing all are from Maharashtra even more so. My hope is that this initiative will continue to shine a light on the incredible educators shaping our children’s futures.”
“We congratulate Rangeet on this meaningful initiative and hope that SEEK reaches many more schools, along with partners like Pratham, helping make the city of Mumbai a more caring place where every child is happy and protected,” says Farida Lambay, Co-Founder & Trustee, Pratham Mumbai Education Initiative.
“At the heart of every meaningful classroom is a teacher who chooses to go beyond the textbook,” adds Rushva Parihar, Head, OmniActive Improving Lives Foundation. “What we are seeing across Maharashtra through the SEEKer Community is deeply encouraging, with educators creating spaces where children feel seen, heard, and engaged with the world around them.”
Maharashtra is proving to be home to an extraordinary community of dedicated educators who are going above and beyond to ensure their children are equipped with the essential skills needed to thrive.
At a time when education is rapidly evolving, initiatives like the Rangeet SEEKer Community serve as an important reminder that meaningful change begins with teachers. By recognising their efforts and amplifying their stories, Rangeet aims to build a stronger, more connected community of educators shaping future-ready learners.
