
A workshop on the implementation of the Aadhar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) was successfully conducted by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) on 9th February at SVKM’s NMIMS-Deemed to be University, School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, Jadcherla. The programme commenced with an inaugural session at 10:30 AM, which included the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the beginning of an insightful and knowledge-driven event. The workshop aimed to orient pharmacy institutions toward the adoption of AEBAS in order to enhance transparency, accountability, and regulatory compliance in attendance management.
The workshop was graced by the distinguished presence of Shri Jashubhai Hirabhai Chaudhari, Vice-President, Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Dr. M. Niranjan Babu, Central Council Member, PCI, and Dr. V. Prabhakar Reddy, Central Council Member, PCI and AEBAS Nodal Officer, who played a pivotal role in guiding the deliberations and underscoring the significance of AEBAS implementation in pharmacy institutions. The programme was also attended by Dr. Suman Naredla, Director, and Dr. Ashwini Deshpande, Deputy Director, who represented the host institution and extended institutional support to the successful conduct of the workshop.
The event witnessed the participation of principals, faculty-in-charge and management from more than 30 pharmacy colleges. Their presence reflected the growing emphasis on institutional readiness and adherence to PCI guidelines across pharmacy institutions.
The workshop was led by Mr. Ashutosh Gangwar, IT Consultant – PCI, who delivered a comprehensive session on the AEBAS platform, its objectives, and its alignment with national digital initiatives. He elaborated on the operational workflow of the system, system requirements, registration and onboarding procedures, compliance norms, and best practices for effective implementation at the institutional level. Emphasis was also laid on the role of academic leadership in monitoring and ensuring accurate and real-time attendance records.
The booklet titled “Booksiode and Reseviews” was formally unveiled in the august presence of the dignitaries. The booklet comprises a comprehensive compilation of all the research projects conducted within the university, showcasing the institution’s academic achievements and commitment to fostering a strong research culture.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Question and Answer session, during which participants actively engaged with the PCI representatives to seek clarifications on technical challenges, implementation strategies, and institutional preparedness. The session encouraged constructive dialogue and provided practical insights to facilitate the smooth adoption of AEBAS across pharmacy institutions.
Overall, the workshop proved to be informative and impactful, equipping principals and faculty members with the necessary understanding to implement AEBAS effectively while also highlighting the university’s dedication to academic excellence and research dissemination.
