Kochi, Feb 12th: Wonderla Holidays Ltd. opened a state-of-the-art dialysis unit as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. The new unit, implemented in partnership with Nirmala Society for Medical Care, will provide free dialysis services to underprivileged patients suffering from chronic kidney disease across Muvattupuzha, Kothamangalam, and Thodupuzha municipality areas.
Executed over a period of two months, the project involved Wonderla supporting the installation of one fully equipped dialyser unit, with a total investment of~ ₹8 lakh [approximately]. The facility is housed within a charitable, not-for-profit healthcare institution, enabling access to essential dialysis treatment for patients who otherwise face financial and logistical barriers to regular care. The unit is expected to serve ~100+ patients per month, significantly easing the burden on families dependent on subsidised healthcare.
Speaking on the initiative, Arun K. Chittilappilly, Executive Chairman and Managing Director, Wonderla Holidays Ltd., said, “At Wonderla, we believe that corporate responsibility goes beyond business and entertainment – it is about standing by communities in moments that truly matter. Access to timely dialysis can be life-saving, yet for many underprivileged patients it remains a daily struggle. Through this initiative, we aim to support essential healthcare infrastructure and ensure that patients battling chronic kidney disease receive consistent care without financial hardship. We are proud to partner with Nirmala Society for Medical Care in strengthening access to critical treatment at the grassroots level.”
Sharing her perspective, Sr. Jessy, Nirmala Society for Medical Care, added, “Access to consistent dialysis treatment is a matter of survival for patients with chronic kidney disease, yet it remains financially out of reach for many families. Wonderla’s support has enabled us to strengthen our treatment capacity and extend timely, life-saving care to patients from economically weaker backgrounds. This contribution will make a tangible difference in many lives.”
Through this project, Wonderla underscores its belief that access to essential healthcare services should not be limited by economic circumstances and that corporate responsibility plays a vital role in strengthening community health systems. The project’s effectiveness will be measured through the number of dialysis sessions conducted every month, helping track consistent utilisation and patient outreach.
