Bangalore, Mar 06: Uber today announced the launch of Intercity Bus ticketing on the Uber app, with India becoming its first market globally to roll out the product. The new offering expands Uber’s Intercity portfolio, enabling riders to plan and book long-distance bus journeys with the same trusted Uber experience.
Uber is starting Intercity Bus ticketing in partnership with Ixigo’s AbhiBus, as its first supply integration. Starting today, riders across the country can book intercity bus tickets through the Uber app.
As an introductory offer, riders can avail a 25% discount (up to Rs 200) on their first Uber Intercity Bus ride, and 10% discount (up to Rs 100) on their next 3 rides.

With Intercity Bus ticketing, riders can discover, plan, and book long-distance bus travel directly on the Uber app. The product comes with platform-level safety features including real-time location sharing, a 24×7 safety helpline, and dedicated trip support, offering riders confidence and peace of mind throughout their journey.
The launch builds on Uber’s continued expansion in the Intercity travel segment in India. Uber’s Intercity car product now connects more than 3,000 city-to-city routes across the country, expanding access between metros and smaller cities. Last year, Uber also introduced a limited-period Intercity Motorhomes offering, providing riders with a premium long-distance travel option and further diversifying Uber’s Intercity portfolio.
Uber’s Intercity travel offering now spans a range of trip types, from hatchbacks and sedans to multi-utility vehicles and now buses, reinforcing Uber’s commitment to tapping India’s growing long-distance travel opportunity and delivering seamless mobility experiences for riders across the country.
How to book Uber Intercity Bus tickets:
● Log in to the Uber app
● Find the ‘Intercity buses’ option on the Uber home screen or services
● Select your pick up and drop off locations
● Review the available options based on your search and select the preferred provider
● Select your preferred seat from the seat selection window
● Verify/enter your contact details to receive booking information
● Pay using UPI, Debit/Credit card, Net banking
● After successful payment, ticket details will be shown on the confirmation screen and details will be sent via email and whatsapp
