Feb 12th: The Binge Town, a private theatre-based celebration venue chain, has secured ₹2 crore on Shark Tank India, comprising ₹1 crore for 2.5% equity, valuing the company at 40 Cr and ₹1 crore as debt at 15% interest, from Varun Alagh, Co-Founder & CEO of Mamaearth.

However, during the Shark Tank India pitch, the company also received a ₹8 crore offer from Anupam Mittal, marking the highest offer value presented to any brand on the show and reflecting strong investor confidence in its business model and growth potential. For the brand’s current phase of expansion and operational scale-up, the founders chose to proceed with Varun Alagh’s proposal, which they felt was best aligned with their immediate business priorities and scaling requirements.

The funding marks a significant milestone for The Binge Town as it scales its presence across India’s growing experience-led celebration market. Along with capital, Varun Alagh will extend strategic support through industry networks, cross-branding opportunities, platform integrations including BookMyShow/District, and long-term growth guidance.

The funds will be deployed to accelerate expansion, strengthen post-Shark Tank brand visibility, and deepen the brand’s focus on becoming a full-fledged celebration platform, supporting new city launches, franchise-led expansion across Tier II and Tier III markets, marketing initiatives, and operational strengthening.

Reflecting on the Shark Tank journey, Chetan Agrawal, Co-founder, The Binge Town said, “Pitching on Shark Tank pushed us to look at our business with greater depth and clarity. The process, insights, and validation we received have helped sharpen our growth strategy and will play an important role in strengthening our brand as we scale. Beyond capital, Mr. Varun’s industry expertise, network, and market reach will open doors to valuable partnerships and connections, accelerating our growth journey.”

As a first-mover in the organised celebration venue space, The Binge Town currently operates 90+ private theatres across 24 branches in 12 cities, hosting 320+ celebrations every day, with venue capacities ranging from 2 to 20 seats. The brand has evolved from a private theatre-only offering to a structured celebration venue chain, delivering decor-led birthday and anniversary celebrations alongside its core private theatre experience.

The company aims to scale to 200+ venues across 50+ locations in 25+ cities (including Tier II & Tier III) by the end of 2026, reinforcing its leadership in the category.
