Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), a leading power utility supplying electricity to a populace of 7 million in North Delhi, hosted the second edition of Urja Arpan Conclave on April 24th, 2024, to commemorate the World Earth Day.
The conclave focused on the Demand Side Management (DSM) journey of Tata Power-DDL along with raising awareness about responsible and efficient electricity consumption among individuals and organizations. The event contributed to the greater umbrella of “Sustainable is Attainable” and provided an engaging and impactful platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing among key stakeholders in the sustainability space.

Active collaboration and participation from stakeholders reflect the positive behavioural change among the society at large. The event was also attended by young minds including the students and teachers from the partner schools, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Residential, Commercial & Industrial customers along with Residential and Industrial Welfare Associations.

The First Edition of the Urja Arpan Conclave organised on the occasion of Earth Day on 22nd April ’23 received an overwhelming response successfully raising awareness towards the need of sustainability.
This year’s edition of Urja Arpan Conclave aspired to explore innovative solutions and drive towards energy efficiency. The initiative united industry leaders, policymakers, academia, customers, and sustainability advocates to collectively address the pressing climate crisis.
Urja Arpan has been a cornerstone of Tata Power-DDL’s Demand Side Management (DSM) journey encouraging communities to embrace sustainable living and promoting efficient electricity usage.
Mr. Abhishek Sharma, Director, BEE, shared insights on the key initiatives being taken by BEE for upgrading energy efficient technology and adopting energy efficiency measures by citizens to combat the impact of growing climate change concerns.
At the Urja Arpan Conclave 2024, several impactful initiatives took center stage. A special educational module was launched on the Urja Arpan microsite which focuses attention on energy and environmental conservation, and sustainable lifestyle. The module also featured interesting activities on the topics covered for the readers. An interactive panel discussion by thought leaders delved into the strategies for Climate Change Mitigation, and shed light on crucial environmental issues.
To educate and spread awareness on energy efficiency among the stakeholders, a quarterly Urja Arpan newsletter was also unveiled. The newsletter covered key activities being undertaken by Tata Power-DDL to keep all stakeholders apprised.
A collaboration with “Go Sharpener” was also announced to enhance the reach across schools. This partnership will enable us to sensitize a larger number of students, thus providing boost to the momentum of Urja Arpan Initiative.
The contribution made by stakeholders was duly recognised and they were suitably awarded with certificates and prizes. Students who won Urja Arpan quiz on environmental topics were awarded as well.
