Chennai, India – 30th July 2024 – Somerset Greenways Chennai, a leading serviced residence in the city, recently announced the inauguration of its state-of-the-art water bottling plant, marking a significant milestone in the property’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Operating under the brand name ‘Peour – Sustainably Sourced, Perfectly Pure,’ the plant will produce high-quality bottled water while adhering to stringent sustainability standards. Peour, the alkaline-based water, is designed to promote health and immunity, and the initiative aligns with Somerset Greenways Chennai’s adherence to Ascott CARES, a global sustainability program by The Ascott Limited.
The bottling plant, supported by the CapitaLand Innovation Fund, is the first of its kind within Ascott India and represents a major step towards reducing the property’s environmental footprint. By eliminating the use of plastic bubble tops and single-use plastics, Somerset Greenways Chennai is taking a proactive approach to addressing the global plastic waste crisis.
Mansur Ahmed, General Manager at Somerset Greenways Chennai said, “We are thrilled to unveil our new water bottling plant, a testament to our ongoing dedication to sustainable practices. Peour not only provides our guests with a refreshing and pure drinking water experience but also embodies our unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
