Wakefit’s new brand film Brings Back Sleep Internship Season 5; Pits cities against each other for the biggest sleep-off of the year

Bangalore | 01st April 2026: What if your city’s pride depended on how well you slept? Wakefit.co, one of India’s largest D2C sleep and home solutions brand is bringing back its much-loved Sleep Internship. Now in its fifth Season, the campaign introduces a fresh cultural twist, brought alive through a high-energy brand film that puts sleep at the centre of a nationwide rivalry. It’s city vs city, as participants from across India compete to prove which city truly rests the best, all while standing a chance to win up to ₹10 lakh and a dream vacation.

Conceptualised and executed by Spring Marketing Capital, the brand film captures a uniquely Indian sentiment, city pride, reimagined through an unexpected lens: sleep. From Mumbai’s intensity to Bengaluru’s hustle, Chennai’s sporting spirit to Kerala’s calm confidence, the film playfully showcases how every city is competing not to stay awake but to sleep better. Blending humour, regional nuances, and exaggerated rivalry tropes, the film flips the traditional idea of competition on its head. Loud cheers turn into silence, hustle transforms into slowing down, and the ultimate winning strategy becomes the pursuit of deep rest- reinforcing Wakefit.co’s core message: sleep is not a luxury, but a necessity for all.

At the heart of this narrative is the return of the Wakefit Sleep Internship, now bigger and more competitive than ever. Participants from across cities will represent their hometowns in a first-of-its-kind sleep championship, wherein selected interns will embark on a 60-day sleep journey, where their only “task” is to consistently clock 9 hours of sleep every night in their homes. Armed with a Wakefit.co mattress and the brand’s advanced sleep tracker – Track8, participants will also engage in expert-led sessions and curated experiences designed to improve their sleep quality and overall well-being, all while earning a stipend of ₹1 lakh.

As sleep scores are tracked and compared across cities, the competition will culminate in a grand finale, where top performers will battle it out for the title of India’s Sleep Champion. Winners stand to earn up to ₹10 lakh along with a dream vacation, making this the most exciting edition yet.

Speaking about the launch, Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, Director & Co-founder, Wakefit.co, said: “The Wakefit Sleep Internship has always been about sparking a larger cultural shift, getting people to see sleep not as lost time, but as essential to living well. This year, by bringing in city pride and a sense of competition, we’re making that conversation even more engaging and relatable. The growing sleep economy reflects how people today are rethinking health and productivity. Sleep is no longer passive downtime, it’s a key pillar of well-being. With Season 5, we hope to make good sleep, something people not only value, but actively aspire to.”

Over the past four seasons, the Wakefit Sleep Internship has grown into a cultural phenomenon, attracting over 10 lakh applications. A total of 65 sleep interns have been part of the journey so far, each earning a stipend of ₹1 lakh each, with winners taking home significant rewards – including ₹9.1 lakh in Season 4 and ₹9 lakh in Season 3 based on their sleep scores in the finale. The initiative continues to challenge the long-standing notion that sleep is unproductive, instead positioning it as a critical pillar of health, performance, and overall well-being.
