FARMINGDALE, N.Y., April 6 — SkyHope, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that organizes free flights for patients who need to travel to access medical care through a network of volunteer pilots, is pleased to announce Josh Olson as its new Director of Development and Marketing. Josh most recently served as Principal Officer of Institutional Giving at the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Foundation. Prior to his role at AOPA, Josh spent 21 years with Angel Flight West (AFW), including 11 years as Executive Director, where he led AFW through a period of significant growth, increasing annual missions by 60%, boosting the volunteer pilot base by 70%, and doubling fundraising revenue. At AOPA, he led foundation and corporate fundraising for aviation education and workforce development initiatives.

Josh is a highly visible and respected leader in the charitable aviation community,” said Adam Broun, Chairman of the Board of SkyHope. “We are delighted to have him join the leadership team and help us on our journey to grow SkyHope into one of the largest and best-regarded volunteer pilot organizations in the United States.”

As a third-generation aviator, Josh aligns closely with SkyHope’s mission of providing free air transportation for medical and compassionate needs. He also serves on the board of the Air Care Alliance.

“We feel very fortunate to have someone with Josh’s experience and passion joining the team,” said Donna Collins, Executive Director of SkyHope.
