Nashik, 16th August 2024: Salam Kisan, a pioneering agri-tech platform, has unveiled its Independence Day campaign comprising impactful agricultural initiatives to empower farmers. The campaign includes training programs for drone pilots, skill development initiatives for farmers, and community events that connect farmers, local leaders, and agricultural experts. It showcases Salam Kisan’s commitment to bringing meaningful change to rural communities and transforming Indian agriculture by leveraging technology and encouraging collaboration.
As part of the campaign, Salam Kisan is sponsoring the eight-day Shree Gangagiri Krishi Pradarshan event in Nashik from 10th to 17th August 2024. During the event, the company will engage directly with farmers, offering insights into their services and encouraging app downloads for a better farming experience. A daily lucky draw will award one farmer with a Samsung smartphone, and on the final day, one grand prize winner will receive the “Arjuna” Drone, valued at INR 10 lakh.
Salam Kisan also conducted two-day entrepreneurship development workshops at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Nagpur. Led by the company’s COO, Akshay Khobragade, the sessions emphasized the pivotal role of startups in driving development, encouraging students to transform their innovative ideas into reality with institutional support. It offered on-the-spot opportunities for promising students to join Salam Kisan’s Summer Internship Program (SIP), where they will gain hands-on experience and develop their entrepreneurial skills. Upon completion, they may get opportunities to join the startup as professionals.
For other regional initiatives in the campaign, Salam Kisan’s drone pilots are leading the charge in positively influencing local farming practices. In Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district, the company’s experienced drone pilot Mukesh Nagdeote is driving a plantation program that promotes sustainable agricultural practices, positively impacting the lives of over 800 farmers.
Salam Kisan has also partnered with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) to strengthen support for rural farmers through an initiative led by their drone pilot Sahil Khelkar in Wardha. They are hosting workshops, training sessions, and demonstrative events for farmer engagement and knowledge sharing to improve agricultural outcomes in the region. In Chandrapur, Salam Kisan’s drone pilots Raj Sidam and Amol Kohare are providing essential R&D plot guidance, including demonstrations and practical insights to farmers and students at the Government Agricultural College. The focus is on providing insights into advanced agricultural techniques like drone spraying and soil testing.
In another insightful initiative, the company is activating new areas for agricultural development, creating job opportunities, and offering procurement guidance to farmers under the guidance of Sachin Sawdekar, an experienced Salam Kisan drone pilot, in Khamgaon. Meanwhile, Salam Kisan is hosting a virtual meet for sugarcane growers led by Rohit Patil, educating farmers about improving the quality and yield of sugarcane crops through modern techniques.
