Salaam Namaste Community Radio Awarded for Promoting Community Awareness

Noida, Mar 17th: IMS Noida’s community radioSalaam Namaste Community Radio, has been honoured on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day for its outstanding contribution in the field of community awareness and public outreach. The award was presented by the Bureau of Indian Standards (under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India).

On this occasion, the President of IMS Noida, Mr. Rajeev Kumar Gupta, stated that the recognition reflects the dedication of the community radio team and their sense of responsibility towards society. He emphasized that through Salaam Namaste Community Radio, continuous efforts are being made to spread awareness on public interest issues, contributing to the development of responsible and informed consumers.

Station Head Ms. Barsha Chhabaria expressed that this recognition is a moment of pride and motivation for the entire team. She highlighted that the radio has been actively disseminating useful and awareness-driven information to various sections of society. The award was presented by Raju Sharma, Scientist-D, and Ayush Raj, Standard Promotion Officer from the Ghaziabad branch of the Bureau of Indian Standards, who handed over the certificate. She further added that the radio will continue its efforts to raise awareness on consumer rights, quality standards, and the use of safe products through its programs.

Congratulating the team, Raju Sharma stated that the award recognizes the consistent efforts made to spread awareness among different sections of society, including women, youth, and rural communities, regarding consumer rights, Indian standards, and quality. He reiterated that ensuring access to safe and quality products for consumers is a key objective of the Bureau of Indian Standards, and enhancing awareness about standardization and quality is essential. He also noted that community radio serves as an effective medium to disseminate information related to consumer rights and Indian standards.
