Jaipur, July 25, 2024 – Instilling a spirit of friendly competition among young athletes, Ryan Edunation School, Jaipur, hosted the inaugural Inter-School Taekwondo and Aero Skating Championship 2024. The event witnessed energetic participation from 220 students representing 10 schools across the city.
The championship, conceptualized by Ryan Edunation School, Jaipur, aimed to provide students with a platform for self-expression and mutual learning, while promoting healthy competition. Taekwondo, now a compulsory sport for students at Ryan International Schools, is part of the integrated Sports and Performing Arts Programme (SPARK) introduced in the 2024-25 academic session. This inaugural event marks the beginning of a series of competitions set to expand to more schools and potentially include a wider range of sports and activities.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Jain, ex-national volleyball player and Asian Games gold medalist, was the chief guest of the function, inspiring young athletes with his presence.
Participants competed across four age groups, ranging from Classes 1 & 2 to Classes 7 & 8. Several schools joined the host school in the competition, including Narayana e-techno School, St. Michael School, Kidzee Srijan International School, Kids Paradise School, De Kids Castle School, Rosary Public School, Choudhary Jodharam International School, Tiny Tutees School, Kendriya Vidyalaya 5, and American International School.
After immense competition, Ryan Edunation School emerged as the overall championship winner. In Taekwondo, they won 18 gold, 18 silver, and 7 bronze medals. For Skating, the medal tally was 19 gold, 8 silver, and 8 bronze.
The event also acknowledged the relentless efforts of visiting coaches in grooming young talent. They were:
