RASANAI presents ‘Thalluvandi Festival’ Local South Indian Flavours Fresh Off the Cart

In Tamil, Thalluvandi refers to a pushcart or handcart a familiar sight across South Indian streets where vendors prepare and serve freshly made delicacies. The Thalluvandi Festival at RASANAI draws inspiration from this lively street culture, recreating the experience of enjoying local favourites prepared with care, bold flavours, and a sense of nostalgia.

The festival menu highlights a curated selection of regional specialties that reflect the diversity of South Indian street food traditions. Diners can savour dishes such as Bandi Style Miriyalu Paneer, Nagoor Potti Choru, Muttai Kolli with Poricha Kozhi, Mangalore Buns with Kempu Chutney and Capsicum Ennegai, and the comforting pairing of Paruthipaalum Paniyaramum — each dish rooted in regional culinary traditions yet presented with RASANAI’s thoughtful touch.

Ulavachaaru Chicken Wings is another highlight of the festival. In the streets of coastal Andhra, pots of ulavachaaru simmer as locals gather around pushcarts for this deeply earthy favourite. At RASANAI, the flavour is reimagined with crispy chicken wings coated in a slow-brewed horse gram reduction — dark, tangy, and layered with the bold, unmistakable character of Andhra cuisine.

The Thalluvandi Festival is now available for a limited time at RASANAI outlets in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Kochi, inviting diners to experience the nostalgia and bold flavours of South Indian street carts, freshly brought to the table.
