New Delhi, 28th February 2025: In a significant step towards sustainability, Prabhu Naidu Ltd. (PNL) launched the ‘Bag of Hope’ campaign at the auspicious Mahakumbh, distributing 1 lakh eco-friendly bags, crafted by rural women. This initiative promotes sustainable practices by encouraging people to replace single-use materials with reusable and biodegradable bags.
Mahakumbh attracts millions of devotees, often increasing non-biodegradable waste. Through ‘Bag of Hope,’ PNL addresses this challenge by encouraging individuals to adopt sustainable alternatives. These nature-friendly bags are produced by rural women artisans who are promoting eco-conscious choices and driving positive change. Aligning with PNL’s commitment to sustainability, ‘Bag of Hope’ bags are made from cotton and recycled materials, designed for long-term use.
Ritvika Naidu, Chairperson, PNL, also shared her thoughts on the initiative: “The ‘Bag of Hope’ initiative aims to promote sustainable choices and offer a tangible solution to an urgent global issue. By distributing eco-friendly bags, we support sustainability and empower individuals to take ownership of their actions for a cleaner, greener planet. This initiative also highlights the crucial role of rural women in our production process, fostering economic independence and self-sufficiency through our EmpowHER program. This is just the beginning of our journey towards a more sustainable future. We aim to scale up ‘Bag of Hope’, with plans to distribute over 10 lakh eco-friendly bags at major events this year.”
