Mumbai, Feb 11:  PharmEasy, one of India’s leading healthcare platforms, is strengthening access to online doctor consultations as more users turn to digital platforms for timely medical advice for everyday health concerns. Available on the PharmEasy app, the Doctor Consult service connects users with licensed doctors through audio or video calls across multiple specialities, providing a convenient and private avenue for medical guidance.

PharmEasy Doctor Consult is powered by a network of over 70 licensed doctors and is designed to address both routine and sensitive health concerns. It aims to provide access to quality doctors across India, with a strong focus on Tier 2 cities, allowing users to seek premium care from wherever they are, with complete privacy and ease.

With features such as free follow-up consultations, digital prescriptions, and 24/7 availability, PharmEasy Doctor Consult helps reduce delays in seeking medical advice and ensures continuity of care. In cases where a doctor determines that an in-person consultation is necessary, users are eligible for a full consultation fee refund, reinforcing PharmEasy’s commitment to responsible and patient-first care.

It covers over 20 medical specialities, with general health, skin and hair, women’s health, sexual wellness, and childcare among the most consulted categories.

General Physicians (GPs) account for the majority of consultations, contributing nearly 85% of total consults. The prevailing user behaviour shows that most users prefer to begin with a GP consultation and then move to a specialist if required, with relatively few users opting to consult specialists directly at the first instance.

The service has seen a growing number of young adults, typically those living independently for work or in hostels, opting for skin & hair consultations. Unlike most other categories, these users tend to consult specialists directly.

Additionally, there has been an increasing demand for support around stress management and overall well-being amongst the youth. To address this need, the platform plans to introduce dedicated mental healthcare specialists, further strengthening its comprehensive care journey.

Consultation demand is typically highest during morning hours (8 am to 12 pm) and evenings (6 pm to 10 pm), indicating that users, particularly working adults, are increasingly integrating medical advice into their daily routines. Online consultations make it easier for individuals with busy schedules to seek timely care without needing to take time off for in-person visits.

Evening consultations see slightly higher queries related to sexual health, gynaecological concerns, and child health, while overall consultation volumes peak over the weekend.

Furthermore, consultations related to sexual health show a noticeable uptick, highlighting how the privacy and anonymity of online consultations enable users to seek timely medical advice for sensitive concerns they may otherwise hesitate to discuss in person.

The service has seen active adoption across cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Gurgaon, with PharmEasy Doctor Consult recording an average month-on-month growth of nearly 15% over the past three months. The service has also witnessed close to 20% repeat consultations, indicating growing user trust and continued reliance for follow-up care.

Commenting on the growing adoption, Gaurav Verma, Chief Business Officer, PharmEasy (API Holdings), said, “We are seeing a gradual shift in how people approach healthcare. More people are now seeking medical advice earlier, rather than waiting for symptoms to escalate. Online consultations are helping bridge this gap by offering timely and affordable access to quality doctors, especially in Tier 2 cities. They also allow people to discuss sensitive health concerns privately. Our focus is on making doctor consultations a natural first step for everyday health concerns.”

As digital healthcare evolves, PharmEasy continues to focus on building reliable and accessible solutions that complement traditional care pathways while addressing the changing needs of patients.
