
Noida, Jan 28: IMS-DIA organised a grand environmental awareness programme, Paryavaran Sankalp Yatra, which witnessed active participation from environmentalists, social organisations, youth, and citizens. During the programme, young participants collectively pledged to adopt a sustainable and responsible lifestyle.
While inaugurating the event, renowned environmentalist, social innovator, Tree Man, and Chairperson of Gift A Tree Network, Dr. Deepak Ramesh Gaur, shared the concept, objectives, and long-term vision of the Paryavaran Sankalp Yatra. He stated that environmental protection today is not merely a campaign, but a collective consciousness rooted in public participation. Emphasising community-driven initiatives and long-term ecological responsibility, he described environmental conservation as a moral duty towards future generations.
During the programme, Dr. Gaur ceremonially handed over the symbolic baton to Mr. Deepak Verma, representative of Sahastradhara Gyan Foundation, entrusting him with the responsibility of taking the Paryavaran Sankalp Yatra forward from Noida to Dehradun.
Representing Sahastradhara Gyan Foundation, Mr. Deepak Verma formally presented the detailed roadmap of the Yatra. He informed that the journey will commence from Noida and pass through Ghaziabad, Meerut, Saharanpur, Roorkee, and Haridwar, before culminating in Dehradun. He also outlined the proposed schedule, key halts, timeline, and stay arrangements, highlighting the importance of public participation, environmental awareness, and shared responsibility towards sustainable living at every stage of the journey.
On this occasion, IMS-DIA Vice President Mr. Chirag Gupta, while participating in the tree plantation drive, stated that the role of educational institutions goes beyond imparting education and includes nurturing socially and environmentally responsible citizens. He added that initiatives like the Paryavaran Sankalp Yatra inspire youth towards leadership, sensitivity, and sustainable development, and reaffirmed IMS-DIA’s continued commitment to such public welfare initiatives.
Meanwhile, Dean of IMS-DIA, Prof. Dr. M.K.V. Nair, remarked that the programme strengthened collective thinking towards environmental conservation and provided a new direction to nature protection through people-led participation. The event marked an important step towards reinforcing collaborative efforts for environmental sustainability and fostering a culture of responsibility for protecting nature.
