YOKNEAM ILLIT, ISRAEL and LAS VEGAS, January 10, 2024 – At the forefront of wearable technology, Wearable Devices Ltd. (NASDAQ: WLDS, WLDSW) today at CES 2024 heralds a new chapter in human-device interaction with the general availability of its groundbreaking Mudra Band, the neural interface wristband for remotely controlling Apple devices.
Awarded the “Best of CES Innovation Award 2021” in the Best Wearable Category at a time when the device was strictly in its beta phase of development, the Mudra Band is a watch band replacement that connects via Bluetooth to devices in a user’s Apple ecosystem including iPhone, iPad, AppleTV and Mac computers. The device uses Surface Nerve Conductance (SNC) sensors to capture neural signals transmitted to the brain through a user’s wrist and finger movements, translating these “Air-Touch” finger movements into everyday functions for controlling Apple devices.
Wearable devices reports it has shipped most of the thousands of pre-orders of the Mudra Band, and has inventory on hand for immediate shipment of new orders. Also revealed at CES are two new features, including the ability to use gestures to easily toggle between a user’s Apple devices, and 6DOF Air-Touch (six degrees of freedom in three perpendicular axes) driven by the company’s sensor fusion algorithms. 6DOF ability allows the Mudra Band to recognize a user’s up/down, left/right and yaw/pitch gestures and now also forward and backward.
As digital ecosystems evolve, the interface between humans and machines becomes the pivotal point of innovation. with its sophisticated neural input technology, the Mudra Band represents the future of this interface, offering users a seamless and intuitive way to control their Apple devices with simple, subtle finger movements and hand gestures.
“The Mudra Band genuinely redefines how humans interact with technology, eliminating the need for physical contact and bridging the gap between human input capacity and output efficiency,” said Asher Dahan, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Wearable Devices. “By leveraging bio-potential sensors and a sophisticated fusion of SNC and IMU sensors, this device offers unprecedented accuracy and ease-of-use, fulfilling the promise of a truly natural user interface.”
Amidst an exploding wearable technology market, projected to grow exponentially through 2030, the Mudra Band stands out by addressing the intricate balance between functionality, accuracy, and ergonomic design. It is a testament to Wearable Devices’ system-engineering approach that harmonizes sensor technology, computational algorithms, and user-centered design into a cohesive and powerful product.
Wearable Devices’ GA announcement follows rigorous testing of the Mudra Band by thousands of users and marks a significant milestone not just for Wearable Devices, but for the extended reality (XR) industry as a whole. The device’s Air-Touch functionality epitomizes the synergy between human intention and digital response, ensuring a natural and fluid user experience that is as reflexive as it is revolutionary.
As extended reality becomes part of everyday life, the importance of intuitive and discreet command inputs grows. The Mudra Band’s design is not only driven by its remarkable functionality but also by fashion, offering a sleek, comfortable fit as a contemporary fashion accessory.
The Mudra Band is not just a product but a platform, one that is already being embraced by a global community of developers and innovators. With the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI and neural interface technology, the Mudra Band is poised to set the new standard for human-device interaction.
Wearable Devices invites CES attendees to experience the Mudra Band and explore the vast potential of neural interface technology at North Hall Booth #8363 or at the company’s Palazzo Tower suite.
