The India VIX, an indicator of market volatility, dropped by 15.58% to close at 15.65 points, signaling reduced fear in the market.

The broader markets mirrored the downtrend, with the Nifty Smallcap100 and Nifty Midcap100 indices tumbling 2.70% and 3.20%, respectively.

Worst Hit: Nifty PSU Bank index plunged 4%, dragged by heavyweights such as Union Bank of India and Bank of Baroda.
