Maharashtra Tourism, the vibrant jewel of India’s tourism landscape, achieved resounding success on the international stage with its participation at WTM London 2023.
Maharashtra Tourism participated at WTM London 2023, held from the 6th to 8th November 2023 at ExCel London and showcased the rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and urban allure of the state. The Maharashtra Tourism Pavilion was inaugurated by Ms. V. Vidyavathi, IAS – Union Tourism Secretary, and Mr. Vikram Doraiswami, High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom.
Crafted to offer an immersive journey, the exhibit was a visual symphony, adorned with captivating imagery and cultural treasures that beautifully encapsulated the very soul of Maharashtra. Visitors to the pavilion were mesmerized by the ancient forts and temples, lush hills of the Western Ghats, serene beaches of the Konkan coast, and UNESCO-listed Ellora and Ajanta Caves.
The Maharashtra Tourism stand cast a magnetic spell over a diverse audience, harmonizing perfectly with the overarching theme of sustainable tourism at the event. In addition to the cultural showcase, there were fruitful Business-to-Business (B2B) interactions, fostering collaborations with international travel trade representatives. Visitors showed keen interest in the state’s offerings, with inquiries ranging from adventure opportunities and wildlife safaris to the cultural richness embedded in the historical landmarks.
On November 8th, 2023, the Directorate of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, hosted an engaging Roadshow in London, further showcasing the state’s multifaceted tourism offerings. Attended by travel trade representatives, media professionals, and buyers from the UK, the event unfolded as a celebration of Maharashtra’s cultural grandeur.
The event paid tribute to Maharashtra’s cultural legacy with traditional folk dances such as Lavani, eloquently portraying the state’s artistic grandeur. A memorable networking session concluded the Roadshow, offering attendees a valuable platform to engage with the travel trade.
