Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 6: The Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON) project has registered strong growth in the capital city, strengthening the state’s digital infrastructure. The total number of KFON connections in Thiruvananthapuram has now crossed 10,000, marking a significant milestone for the initiative.

To date, 6,094 household connections have been completed. In addition, KFON services have been extended to 867 families living below the poverty line (BPL) and 2,769 government institutions. By providing high-speed internet at affordable rates, the project continues to gain wider public acceptance.

The dedicated services of local operators and the growing trust among consumers have emerged as key factors behind KFON’s expansion in the capital city.

KFON is already creating a significant impact across key sectors such as education, healthcare and public services by enabling reliable high-speed connectivity. Officials said efforts are underway to further expand the network and extend the service to more areas in the coming months, strengthening Kerala’s digital ecosystem.
