Feb 16th: In a major step toward strengthening India’s digital resilience, the ISB Institute of Data Science (IIDS), in partnership with the Cyber Peace Foundation, recently launched an AI-powered citizen cyber safety platform at the CyberPeace Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The summit, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology as part of the IndiaAI Summit pre-event series, witnessed the launch in the presence of Shri Navin Kumar Singh, a senior IPS officer and National Cyber Security Coordinator, India and other dignitaries.
AI Tools to Combat Phishing, Deepfakes, and Fake News: The platform brings together four AI-driven tools designed to protect citizens from rising digital threats:
- KavachBot – A real-time AI assistant that answers citizen queries on cybercrime and guides users during fraud or scam incidents.
- Praman – A video analysis engine that detects misinformation and fake news elements.
- PhishDetect – A phishing verification tool that helps users check suspicious links before clicking.
- TruthLens – An advanced deepfake detection solution for identifying manipulated audio-visual content.
With cyber fraud, misinformation, and AI-generated deepfakes on the rise, the platform aims to provide proactive, accessible, and citizen-friendly safeguards. The platform signals a shift from reactive cyber response to preventive, AI-driven citizen protection. By combining misinformation detection, phishing verification, deepfake identification, and conversational assistance in a single integrated platform, ISB and Cyber Peace aim to enhance public trust and digital safety across India.
Professor Manish Gangwar, Executive Director, ISB Institute of Data Science, said: “India’s digital growth must be matched by strong cyber resilience. This platform reflects our commitment to translating advanced AI research into practical tools that directly protect citizens. Responsible AI must not remain a policy slogan—it must empower individuals on the ground.”
Major Vineet Kumar, Founder & Global President, CyberPeace, added, “We are witnessing an unprecedented surge in digital threats—from phishing scams to deepfake-driven fraud. This platform ensures that citizens have intelligent tools at their fingertips to detect, verify, and respond to cyber risks before harm occurs.”
