Mar 25: Burma Burma has raised over ₹38 crore in a private funding round, taking its valuation to approximately ₹500 crore. The round saw participation from existing investor Negen Capital, along with new investors Endurance Capital and Coheron Wealth.
Founded in 2012, Burma Burma operates 21 restaurants across major cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Chandigarh. The brand has carved a niche in India’s premium casual dining segment with its focused Burmese cuisine offering.
The company reported annual recurring revenue exceeding ₹200 crore, with a strong growth trajectory of approximately 50% CAGR over the last three years. For FY25, Burma Burma achieved outlet-level profitability of over 21% and an EBITDA margin of around 8%. Its valuation has significantly increased from ₹150 crore to ₹500 crore in the past three years, driven by expansion across metro markets and improving unit economics.
The newly raised capital will be utilised to expand into new cities and strengthen its footprint in existing markets, as the brand looks to capitalise on the growing demand for premium and experience-led dining in India.
Commenting on the development, co-founders Chirag Chhajer and Ankit Gupta said,
“We have spent years building Burma Burma as a differentiated, cuisine-led dining brand with a strong focus on consistency, unit economics, and customer experience. This fundraise will help us accelerate expansion while maintaining the quality and distinct positioning that defines the brand.”
Neil Bahal, Founder of Negen Capital, added,
“Burma Burma stands out in a crowded dining landscape with its commitment to fresh cooking and a unique, exclusive menu. Its vegetarian, alcohol-free positioning creates a differentiated and investor-friendly story with strong long-term potential.”
The transaction was advised by Niamh Ventures, which acted as the investment banker to the company.
With this milestone, Burma Burma continues to strengthen its position as a distinctive and scalable dining brand in India’s evolving food and beverage landscape.
