20th June 2024- India has secured the 63rd position on the global Energy Transition Index, per the latest report released by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Wednesday. The index assesses countries based on their advancements in adopting cleaner energy sources and promoting sustainable practices.
According to the WEF report, India has shown significant improvement across energy equity, security, and sustainability, underscoring notable strides in the country’s energy landscape. The rankings highlight India’s ongoing efforts to embrace renewable energy sources and enhance energy security.
European nations dominated the top ranks of the Energy Transition Index, with Sweden leading the list and Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, and France in the top five positions.
