FatakPay Partners with Seva Sahyog Foundation to Support Close to 700 Rural Students

Mumbai, Mar 17th:  FatakPay Group, in partnership with Seva Sahyog Foundation, has completed its first structured CSR initiative, supporting 700students across four rural schools in the Thane district. Launched in December 2025 and culminating in an on-ground distribution drive on February 20, 2026, the programme was deliberately timed ahead of the new academic year , a period when dropout rates tend to rise, particularly at the critical transition from primary to secondary school. By equipping students before the term began, the initiative aimed to build momentum and reinforce the commitment to continuing education. The School Drive CSR activity is one of the few activities planned for the FY 2026 by the firm.

Students from Classes 1 to 10 received customised school kits tailored to the specific needs of each school. The kits included textbooks, notebooks, essential stationery, and seating mats for classrooms that lacked adequate seating infrastructure. Each kit also included a financial literacy pamphlet featuring quotes from Swami Vivekananda alongside a practical leaflet on good financial habits and their long-term benefits , age-appropriate resources designed to introduce students to sound money values early. In total, nearly 700+ complete learning kits were distributed across the four schools.

With full academic materials available at the start of the term, students were able to begin the school year prepared and confident. In classrooms where seating mats were introduced, the simple addition improved comfort, attention levels, and overall classroom participation.

Many of the students supported through this initiative come from families of daily wage earners, small vendors, drivers, and other informal sector workers. For these households, the beginning of the academic year often brings added financial pressure. By reducing immediate out-of-pocket education expenses, the programme helped ease short-term strain while reinforcing access to consistent schooling , a critical pathway toward long-term mobility.

Beyond the classroom, the programme was structured to generate local economic value. Select components of the school kits, including stationery covers, were produced using sustainable materials by rural women entrepreneurs. This engagement created supplementary income opportunities for women-led micro-enterprises, ensuring the initiative delivered both educational and livelihood impact within the same community ecosystem.

“At FatakPay, we believe responsible growth must extend beyond financial services,” said Abhishek Gandhi, Co Founder . “Education builds long-term resilience, and when we support children while enabling income opportunities for women, we strengthen entire communities. This initiative is not a one-time distribution, but the beginning of a focused and sustained CSR roadmap.”

“We sincerely thank FatakPay Group for your valuable partnership and support. It has been a pleasure working with the FatakPay Group team. Your collaboration has strengthened our School Kit Program and created meaningful opportunities for women from our Skill Development Centre, enabling them to produce items like mats and slate covers and earn a livelihood. We truly appreciate your commitment to social impact and hope this partnership continues in the coming years so that together we can create lasting change in society,” said Sandesh Gharat, Senior Project Manager, CSR & Partnerships, Seva Sahyog Foundation.

For FatakPay Group, meaningful social responsibility goes beyond financial contribution; it is rooted in participation, accountability, and sustained engagement. This initiative marks the beginning of a long-term CSR roadmap focused on improving access to education, supporting women’s economic empowerment, and contributing to inclusive community development across underserved regions.
