Mar 11: Justdial Limited, India’s leading local search engine, has reported a significant year-on-year surge in consumer searches related to electric vehicles (EVs) across the country. The findings are based on an internal analysis comparing search volumes between February 2024–January 2025 and February 2025–January 2026, reflecting a growing consumer focus on EV infrastructure, vehicle access, and supporting power systems.

The analysis highlights a strong increase in searches for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, which registered a 127% rise across India, signalling accelerating demand for charging infrastructure and easier discovery of charging locations. Among major metropolitan cities, Delhi recorded a 98% surge, followed by Mumbai at 82% and Pune at 38%, indicating strong urban momentum toward EV readiness and infrastructure access.

Search activity related to Electric Vehicle Dealers also recorded notable growth, with a 40% increase at the pan-India level. Delhi witnessed an even stronger trend, with searches rising by 51%, suggesting growing consumer intent to explore and purchase electric vehicles.

Additionally, the data indicates expanding interest in the EV ecosystem, particularly in components related to energy storage and performance. Searches for EV Batteries and Power Systems grew 96% nationally, reflecting increasing awareness among consumers about battery technology, charging efficiency, and supporting power infrastructure.

The trends highlight a broader shift in consumer behaviour as EV adoption gathers momentum across India. With greater focus on sustainable mobility and the expansion of charging networks, digital search patterns are increasingly reflecting consumer intent to understand, access, and invest in electric mobility solutions.
