Deloitte India unveils ConnectSafe The nation’s first‑of‑its‑kind cyber facility to safeguard India’s connected ecosystems

Mar 10: Deloitte India today unveiled ConnectSafe™, the country’s first‑of‑its‑kind cyber‑security facility that moves the focus from data‑only protection to safeguarding human lives and critical infrastructure. Recent cybersecurity incidents reported globally highlight how vulnerabilities in connected operational systems can quickly escalate into large-scale disruption.

India’s rapid transition towards connected ecosystems, across mobility, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, agriculture, digital and physical public infrastructure, significantly expands the cyber‑attack surface.

The 4,500 sq ft. facility offers a live environment that simulates real‑world cyber‑threat scenarios across industries including automotive, MedTech, industrial and consumer ecosystems. It enables organisations to test, validate and strengthen security controls without disrupting live operations and directly address the hyper‑connected, systemic cyber risk they face.

“ConnectSafe™ represents a bold step in shaping the future of India’s cyber resilience. This immersive facility is far more than infrastructure, it reflects Deloitte’s commitment to building world-class, future-ready cybersecurity capabilities from India for a rapidly digitising world. As industries become increasingly connected, from smart factories and power systems to vehicles and medical devices, cyber threats are no longer limited to IT systems, they directly impact the operational backbone of our economy. Through ConnectSafe™, organisations can experience real-world threat scenarios, gain deeper visibility into emerging risks, and strengthen safeguards to protect critical infrastructure, operations, and innovation. In doing so, we are not only helping enterprises build trust and resilience but also positioning India as a leader in next-generation cyber defence”, said Romal Shetty, CEO, Deloitte South Asia.

“Built in India for India, Connectsafe™️ is Deloitte’s cybersecurity innovation hub where the physical and digital worlds come together. With connected technologies accelerating and cyber disruptions growing more complex, our facility enables organizations to proactively test, validate, and secure next-generation systems, from micro-level components to large-scale infrastructure. By bringing together advanced cyber testing, threat intelligence, and system validation capabilities, we help organizations strengthen cyber preparedness, build resilience, and stay ahead of evolving threats, protecting the trust that underpins the digital economy and enabling innovation to move forward securely,” said Gaurav Shukla, Partner and Leader – Cyber, Deloitte South Asia.

Why ConnectSafe™ matters now

  • Today, cybersecurity is about protecting people: The convergence of IT and Operational Technology (OT) turns cyber‑attacks into safety incidents, making human life a core security objective.
  • Legacy OT systems are the weakest link: Older operational technology, never designed for security, now sits at the centre of digital transformation and must be treated as an enterprise‑wide risk.
  • Critical infrastructure is the next frontier: Ransomware was only the beginning; attacks on power, water, railways, aviation and other essential services can switch off power, halt trains, ground airlines or disrupt water supply.
  • The attack surface has exploded: The rise of IoT, Industry 4.0 and connected ecosystems, from hospitals and autonomous vehicles to everyday devices like coffee machines has blurred the line between digital and physical risk.
  • India’s push for Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) such as UPI, ONDC, health stacks, agriculture platforms, is creating new interdependencies between physical systems and digital services.
  • Cyber warfare is a new geopolitical front: Nations now consider the first strike to be digital rather than military, heightening the need for robust, nation‑scale cyber defences.

Core capabilities of ConnectSafe™

  • End‑to‑end connected‑systems security spanning devices, sensors, gateways, cloud, applications, networks and physical interfaces.
  • OT‑SOC and V‑SOC for real‑time detection, response and containment of IoT/OT threats.
  • Quantum‑safe systems to future‑proof critical infrastructure against next‑generation cryptographic challenges.
  • OTA/FOTA & SDV protection for software‑defined vehicles and automotive ecosystems.
  • MedTech protection ensuring device trust, patient safety and regulatory‑grade compliance.
  • Experience zones that visualise how cyber breaches unfold, allowing teams to co‑create use cases that detect and prevent emerging threats
