Bengaluru, Mar 06: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, and SASMOS HET Technologies Ltd (SASMOS), a specialised aerospace and defence interconnect solutions manufacturer, have formalised their strategic partnership through the launch of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening indigenous defence production capabilities. The MoU was exchanged by Mr Manoj Jain, CMD, BEL, and Mr HG Chandrashekar, Chairman & Managing Director of SASMOS, in the presence of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh, earlier.
Under the MoU, BEL and SASMOS will combine their expertise in defence electronics, system integration and precision manufacturing to support defence programs, with a focus on localisation of critical components, enhancing domestic value addition and strengthening production capabilities and exports. It also establishes a structured framework for joint participation in defence and strategic programs, covering high-reliability photonics and fibre optic system, avionic and mission-critical electronic systems, aerospace-grade interconnect solutions, electro-mechanical assemblies and mission-critical sub-systems for airborne, naval and land-based platforms.
Aligned with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat vision, the partnership brings together BEL’s leadership in defence electronics and systems integration with SASMOS’ aerospace-grade manufacturing strengths to further deepen India’s indigenous defence supply chain.

The MoU exchange at SASMOS’ Aerospace SEZ facility highlights the readiness of infrastructure and manufacturing ecosystems required for defence-grade production. The collaboration is expected to contribute to supply chain resilience, faster program turnaround, and enhanced competitiveness of Indian defence systems in both domestic and export markets.
