Guwahati, Feb 12: Borluit Productions, the Tezpur-based film production house renowned for its award-winning short films, has unveiled the official poster of its debut Assamese feature film, Dipholu. The much-awaited Assamese feature film – Dipholu, will hit the theatres on August 21, 2026.

The newly unveiled poster offers a glimpse into the film’s visual universe, featuring a rich ensemble cast and a rural Assamese backdrop that reflects Borluit Productions’ rooted storytelling approach.
Directed by Nekib and produced by Jekiv, Dipholu brings together an accomplished team of talent and technicians. The cast includes Amrita Gogoi, Subrat Deori, Arun Nath, Arun Hazarika, Purnada Hazarika, Rajib Dowari, Jyotishman Borah, Kanika Nath, Anirban Kalita, Ankur Baidya, Dr. Hitesh Baruah, Simashree Bora, Priyanshi Kashyap, and Dibya Jyoti Borah, with veteran actress Mridula Barua making a guest appearance.
The film’s creative and technical crew features Nekib as the writer, director, and editor, with the screenplay and dialogues penned by Debojit Bora. Cinematography is handled by Uttam Kalita, and music and background score are composed by Jekiv, who also serves as the producer. Singers Zubeen Garg, Rakesh Reeyan, Rupali Kashyap, Gayatri Hazarika, and Montumoni Saikia have lent their voice as playback singers.
Notably, the film features two very special duet songs sung by legendary Assamese singer Zubeen Garg – one alongside Rupali Kashyap and the other with iconic vocalist Gayatri Hazarika. Both tracks are among the last few recorded and unreleased works of Zubeen Garg, who passed away on September 19, 2025. Widely regarded as the voice of modern Assam, Zubeen’s music shaped generations and continues to live on in the hearts of millions. The duet with Gayatri Hazarika also holds deep emotional significance, as it is among her final recorded works before her demise on May 16, 2025. A recipient of multiple state and national accolades, Gayatri Hazarika was revered for her melodious voice and lifelong contribution to Assamese music and culture.
Reflecting on the loss of the legendary singer, director Nekib said,
“Zubeen Garg was not just a singer — he was the heartbeat of Assam. His passing has left a void that can never be filled. To have one of his last songs in our film is an emotional experience for the entire team, and we will always cherish this honour.”
Deepak Dey and Uday Shankar lead the choreography, while Pankaj Soram directs the action sequences. Costumes are designed by Juri Kalita, with Pijumoni Sharma as the head of makeup. Lyrics have been done by Nekib and Gargee Bhattacharya, Jitul Rajbongshi and Anupam Baishya serve as the Chief Assistant Director, supported by Debasish Deka, Afiron Nessa and Pranjal Haloi. The production is managed by Utpal Kalita and Hirok Jyoti Saloi. Dhanjit Das steps in as the DI Colorist, and Zeetumoni Hazarika takes care of Community Stills and BTS. Life’s Purple, a Guwahati-based PR and Reputation Management Consultancy, is overseeing the film’s PR and media activations.
Commenting on the announcement, producer Jekiv said,

After the success of short films like Rong – The Colour and Akaax Bisari – Into the Sky, Dipholu marks Borluit Productions’ bold entry into feature-length cinema, promising a production rich in local flavour, artistic sincerity, and cinematic charm.
Dipholu will be released in cinemas across Assam and select cities in India on August 21, 2026.
