National Gopal Ratna Awards 2025

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying has announced the winners of the National Gopal Ratna Awards (NGRA) 2025, one of India’s most prestigious honours in the livestock and dairy sector. The awards will be presented on 26 November 2025 as part of the National Milk Day celebrations.

The ceremony will be presided over by Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), who heads the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Ministers of State Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel and Shri George Kurian will also grace the occasion. This year, a remarkable 2,081 applications were received, reflecting nationwide interest and participation.

1. Best Dairy Farmer Rearing Indigenous Cattle/Buffalo Breeds

  • 3rd Prize (Joint):

Award Components

The NGRA 2025 will include a Certificate of Merit, a memento, and monetary prizes for the top two categories:

  • ₹5,00,000 – 1st Prize

  • ₹3,00,000 – 2nd Prize

  • ₹2,00,000 – 3rd Prize

  • ₹2,00,000 – Special Award for NER/Himalayan states

For the Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT) category, awardees will receive a Certificate of Merit and a memento, with no cash prize.

As one of India’s most celebrated recognitions in dairy and livestock management, the National Gopal Ratna Awards highlight exemplary contributions that strengthen the nation’s dairy value chain and promote indigenous breeds—aligning with India’s vision for sustainable and inclusive livestock development.
