Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday aimed at accelerating the development of indigenous technological solutions to strengthen India’s national security framework.

Under the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on research, innovation, and deployment-focused development of smart technologies that can be integrated into next-generation defence systems. The partnership is expected to enhance India’s self-reliance in critical defence capabilities by combining DRDO’s expertise in strategic research with GSV’s strengths in engineering, transportation, and logistics technologies.

Officials said the MoU will help streamline joint efforts in areas such as autonomous systems, smart mobility for defence applications, advanced materials, and artificial intelligence-driven security solutions. The collaboration will also promote knowledge exchange, student training, and capacity building to support future defence innovation.

The initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening the ecosystem for indigenous defence technologies, aligning with the government’s vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and bolstering the nation’s preparedness through advanced, homegrown solutions.
